My Private Island – Constructed in Autodesk Maya 2009

For the last half of this term we were allowed to pick whatever we wanted to model. Initially I was torn between doing a living room and a tropical island. Once I started working on the project, I just started working on the island and didn’t even think of the living room. I worked on it almost everyday of last week. I’m thinking about adding a boat to float by the dock. This video took about 10 hours to render from Maya to a QuickTime movie. So here’s over a week’s worth of work into 48 seconds.

7 Seconds – Animation Using Autodesk Maya 2009

This term is almost over and I’ve learned so much the past 6 weeks. I really thought I’d never like Maya but turns out it is so much fun. I was sick during week 5 of class so I couldn’t finish my mouse animation on time. I finally submitted it a couple days ago. I am a bit disappointed in my work though. I spent very many hours, even days, on rigging my mouse to animate it but I couldn’t get it right so I had do dumb down the mouse animation. So here it is, over 30 hours squeezed into 7 seconds of animation.

Because I’m Lazy… I Discovered Something New

I haven’t been feeling well since I woke up today and I really wish I could just stay in bed, but I had to get up because today is Wednesday. What’s so important about Wednesday’s? Well its homework day, lots to post. Normally, I would have gone through all the lecture notes and videos but I totally skipped Monday to attend to other matters. Yesterday, I spent all day watching lecture videos and doing them myself so by 6pm I was drained. This morning I woke up feeling like poop, took some drugs, and got back to reading lectures and posting for one class. Now, I’m too lazy to read the lectures for the other class but I have to. So, in my laziness I thought about the Accessibility Tools Windows Vista have, I was hoping for a program that reads so I wouldn’t have to read just listen. Before I found the Narrator I discovered the Snipping Tool. I was curious of what it does so I clicked it open. It’s one of the most useful tools! You know how you do a print screen and then have to paste it to Photoshop or something to get the screenshot and then crop what you need then save it as an image? Well the Snipping Tool just lets you snip any part of your screen and lets you save it. I use screenshots a lot for many things and I’m so glad I was lazy today, I found a new tool to cut down on some steps. I love being lazy sometimes, I find the coolest shortcuts to do things.

Well I gotta get back to school, get my Narrator on to read my lectures for me. :)
