Backpacking Through Baguio

Since Yen got here we decided to stay in a hotel instead of staying at the condominium. Nay got us a room at the Baguio Country Club for the first two nights, but we had to move to the Villa Cordillera for the next two nights because the club was booked. The Villa Cordillera has some perks but it really isn’t the best place to stay. The hot water is warm and the water pressure is like showering on a pee trickle (I imagine, never really experienced this). The perks of the place was free wi-fi and it was right next door to the condominium. Any way, after two nights we pack our bags again to move back to the club for three nights. We were hoping they could extend our stay until we leave unfortunately they were fully booked again. So again we pack our bags, this time the Villa Cordillera was fully booked too. So we had to find a suitable hotel downtown. We search online… and found El Cielito. Finally a hotel we could stay at until we depart. This hotel is decent, free breakfast is the greatest perk and also its about a minute cab ride to the mall. (Yes, we take the cab because we’re too lazy and honestly I really don’t want to breathe exhaust). We thought we had it made here but the first couple nights the phone and internet connection was dead, they finally came back online today. Our cable TV is still dead so I’m unable to watch my fill of Filipino night time soaps.

Yen and I leave for Manila on Sunday, we got a private car service to take us to our next hotel… Dusit Thani Hotel. Finally, a five star hotel to stay at. I figured I’d shell out some money for a relaxing time before we fly out. After all where else in the world would be stay at a five star hotel for less than $150 a night.

Being Back in Baguio – An Unexpected Trip

Last year, Steve and I came to Baguio for a week to spend some time with Nay and Tay. It was a lovely visit, we stayed at the Baguio Country Club where Tay and Steve played a round of golf. That trip was so short and we knew for sure that we would be back here for a longer visit. Little did we know I was going to be here about a year later for a much longer period of time, but for reasons we never expected.

Stupid iPhone 3G! The Restore Mode is the Kiss of Death!

Just as I was getting happy with my iPhone a new update comes out! I’m all excited because I thought it would add some features I was hoping for… like better email features and maybe more smart phone features like cut/copy/paste, or attaching multiple files/photos to an email. But what do I get more freaking grief! This is not what I need now, the iPhone was a lifeline since I’ve been back to the Philippines because I’ve been sending email updates about Tay to everyone. Now, I finally get online and able to download the update 2.1 and iTunes 8. What do I get? The freaking Apple Kiss of Death! Again I’m back to before restore mode!!!! WTF!!! Initially I got error 1611, then 6, then 1611, it can’t even make up its mind on what problem it has! Stupid iPhone 3G piece of shit!

I was even ready to write a blog about how the iPhone redeemed itself because of its usefulness here, forget that! I really hope that I can sync it up on my sister’s computer tomorrow night and “fix” it like Steve did the last time.

As I’m searching for fixes online here’s an article I find “iPhone software update releases; we still wait for a fix” This was for the previous update 2.0.2, now there’s a 2.1 and yet we still wait for a fix. It’s not a freaking fix its a freaking virus! My iPhone was fine and now its shit again!
